The Meetup Feb/March

It’s that time again!  March, wow, you got here quick.  I feel like February just flew by, especially with Bakery’s Half Dozen e-class it has been a busy month with lots of behind the scenes stuff getting done.  I can hardly believe that it is Week 5 in the e-class…

So, the recap / layout for March

For February goals –

*Bakery’s Half-Dozen class awesome, on Week 5 and I feel like I’ve gotten SO SO much done.  Highly recommend it!

*Custom communion invitation / thank you cards – done, sending out paper proofs this week!

*Continue general 2010 goals (Cooking/Baking, Networking, DIY) – done/working on it. Attending some fun Chicago events & meeting lots of new people!

Kind of a short list, but with the Bakery class, it was necessary. March will be another short list month, but I’m pushing to finish up the behind the scenes stuff (biz plan, advertising ideas, press/media kits, etc)!

For March –

Finish Bakery class & put some of this great knowledge to use.

Post some DIY projects.

Coach a friend on starting a blog / biz cards. (this is a fun goal!)

How did everyone do for Feb? Hope it was a great (short) month!

  6. Great things for March lined up! And I SO concur on the Bakery class and how much it has given me in terms of tools and goals and all that, and also it has taken a lot of my time, which is a totally good thing. Have fun with the coaching, that’s awesome!

  7. Deb you definitely get out there in network based on all the fun events I see you attending. That is a big hurdle for a lot of us to overcome myself included. But it seems like you have a handle. Any pointers?

hi nicole – networking is something i’ve definitely been working on… in ‘real life’ i’m pretty soft spoken and kind of shy. a lot of times i have to give myself an extra push to just do it!

what makes it easier is so many people in the paper industry are really really nice and passionate about the same things! A lot of them are soft spoken too, so it makes it less intimidating to chat w/ them. it gets easier when you meet other like-minded people who are just as interested to talk about paper/packaging/baked goods as you are!
Also, I’ve met up with bloggers / people from twitter at events too, so it feels like we already have some common ground & its a fun/kind geeky way to brake the ice!
