Family Farmed Expo

Wow, so much information from the Family Farmed Expo!  More notes coming soon!

Attended the Growing Herbs, Locavore Preserving Food, Farming in the City workshops and I am so inspired to grow something this season!  Here are some great links to learn more while I put together a thorough post!

Wind Ridge Herb Farm – a certified naturally grown farm & greenhouse that raises over 400 varieties of culinary & medicinal herbs

The Local Beet -dedicated to a practical approach to local eating

WeFarm – sets out to establish gardens around the city.  WeFarm is a social enterprise “focused on self-sustainability, effective resource allocation and open source curriculum/programming… to help re-energize the food movement with the most local, organic, and sustainable food possible : your own.”

The Resources Center – according to their site the Resources Center “is a non-profit environmental education organization, leading the way in demonstrating innovative techniques for recycling and reusing materials… devoted from the beginning to the economic and educational revitalization of city neighborhoods through recycling, urban gardening, composting, and other programs that reclaim and reuse resources.”
